Prototype / lab project Linux & Samba
Linux Samba Directory & Storage Sync
Linux file server setup replicating directory account synchronization and folder redirection for workgroup environments operating without domain controllers.
Why it matters
Small offices and campuses often cannot justify a domain controller but still want central accounts and shared storage. This lab builds that behaviour on a Linux file server.
What it does
- Linux file server running Samba on Ubuntu
- Directory-style account synchronization without a domain controller
- Folder redirection for workgroup users
- Storage and backup layout for shared data
Technologies
Status
This is a prototype built as a lab project. It is described here as a working example of my approach, not as a client deployment.
